When to use the treble clef

The treble clef, or G clef, marks the second line from the bottom as the note G. It is used for voice, most wind instruments, violin, guitar and the right hand on piano. For two-handed piano music, use piano staff paper with a grand staff.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no time signature?

Time and key signatures change from piece to piece, so you add them yourself. That way one sheet works for everything.
